What does the embassy require for a Student Visa (F1/F2)?

The general requirements are: your passport (original and photocopied), a photo of you, the online visa application confirmation (DS-160), the visa fee payment receipt, a I-20 Form and proof of financial stability. Besides the general requirements the F2 Visa applicants need two more documents which are: a birth or marriage certificate depending if they’re the child or spouse of the F1 Visa holder and the copy of their F1 Visa holder’s I-20 Form.
